We are going to China!!

We got TA (travel approval) and a confirmed CA (court appointment) today!  I am beyond excited and still a little in shock!  We will be leaving on Novemeber 7th, meeting Asher on November 10th, having court on November 19th, and leaving Hong Kong to come back home on November 21st!  We are currently in a rush to get everything in order, book plane tickets, and get everything we need to take with us.  This next week will be a crazy blur!

I will be making regular updates here on our blog while we are in China, so if you'd like to follow along on our trip, make sure you check back often between Nov. 8th-Nov. 20th!

Will you pray with us that God's peace would cover us in this exciting, but overwhelming time?  The boys are going to be missing us very much and we will be missing them.  We have a lot of details to work out in a short time.  Will you also pray for Asher as his world is about to change drastically?  He is only 7 and he is going to experience fear, grief, and overwhelming changes in a very short amount of time.  We love you all and are so thankful for all you've done to help us get to this point.  God is so, so good and we owe everything to Him!

Almost there!

I just got an email today that our Article 5 paperwork (our last bit of paperwork) was picked up and is on it's way to the CCCWA (China Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption).  This means we are officially in the TA (travel approval) wait!!  Our agency says 1.5 to 3 weeks is the average wait, but just recently we've been seeing a lot of families getting TA in 6 days!

We also found out this last week that our second attempt at getting Asher a care package was successful!  Our sweet boy finally knows he has a family coming and what we look like.  I hope he will be able to recognize our faces and this will make the meeting and transition a little less traumatic for him.

We are getting so close and it doesn't seem real yet.  I'm not sure if we will be home for Thanksgiving, but we will for sure have our son in our arms by then!  It's also very surreal that in a month we will be hopping on a plane (something I haven't done in almost 9 years), and taking a 15-18 hour plane ride to China.  We are very excited and I'm starting to feel a little nervous.  Please continue to pray for us as we will have a lot of things to get put together after we receive travel approval.

I will leave you with the video we recently received of Asher playing.  It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it.  God is so good!
